The Pardo GT65 is the new model in Cantiere del Pardo's GT range, sitting between the GT52 and the GT75. She is 20.14 metres (66 ft 1 in) overall, and the yard describes her as a hardtop sport cruiser that pairs comfortable cruising with sporty handling. She made her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and went on to win the Design Innovation Award at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show, in the category for motor yachts over 14 metres. The jury singled out her distinctive layout and the panoramic view from the helm.
The project is a collaboration between Cantiere del Pardo, Nauta Design and Zuccheri Yacht Design. The concept is the yard's own; Nauta Design drew the exterior and interior, and Zuccheri Yacht Design the naval architecture.
Exterior and swim platform
Aft, a hydraulic platform lowers to sea level and, with its submerged steps, becomes a private beach. A tender of up to 3.25 metres can be launched and recovered out of sight. The aft sunpad takes four, with an integrated sink and an optional electric barbecue alongside.
The cockpit seats twelve on wraparound seating. With the optional joystick, the bow lounge becomes a second helm station. The controls are integrated with Garmin electronics.
Main deck
The large aft glazing slides back and tilts open. The yard calls the result an infinity saloon: with the glass open, the saloon merges with the cockpit and gives a 360-degree view. The galley sits on a mid-level between the saloon and the cabins; finished in Dekton sintered stone, it keeps a visual link with the saloon, so whoever is cooking is not cut off from it. Inside, the walls are lined in Dedar linen and the floors are oak parquet.

Lower deck
The lower deck has three cabins and three bathrooms, each cabin self-contained. The full-beam master is forward and, the yard says, is the first Pardo cabin with a walk-in wardrobe. The VIP is aft and has an electric sliding mirror. The bathrooms have Elka fittings and sintered stone. The standard layout sleeps six, in two doubles and two cabins that can be set up as singles or doubles, and there is space for crew.

Engines and performance
Standard power is a pair of Volvo Penta IPS 1200s, with IPS 1350s as an option. On the yard's sea-trial figures, she reaches 35 knots, cruises at around 26 and has a range of more than 300 nautical miles. The yard notes that these figures may vary with conditions and does not say which engine option they relate to.
Fuel capacity is 3,300 litres and water 1,100 litres. She displaces 34.5 tonnes and draws 1.55 metres. Under CE classification she is rated for 12 people in Category B and 16 in Category C.

Who is she for?
The GT65 is for buyers who want more than 30 knots from a yacht of around 20 metres without giving up liveable interior space. The platform that drops to the water, the hidden tender bay and the opening aft glazing set her up for long days at anchor. A range of over 300 nautical miles suits coastal cruising from bay to bay rather than long offshore passages. The joystick, the optional second helm forward and IPS drives will appeal to owners who intend to helm her themselves. Whether she will be run with or without a skipper should be decided before purchase, together with berthing and maintenance plans, and the sea trial should be carried out with the chosen engine option.
