The 570 SKY is a new 17.55-metre (57 ft 7 in) addition to Galeon's Skydeck range. The yard describes her as combining a hardtop's sporty silhouette with the practicality of a flybridge. From the outside she has the low profile of a coupé, yet her top deck conceals a fully equipped helm that unfolds when needed. The 570 SKY won Best Innovation in the 45–64 ft category at the World Yachts Trophies, held during the Cannes Yachting Festival.

Beach Mode and the aft section

Her headline feature is the optional Beach Mode Package. Fold-down balconies on both sides take the usable beam from 4.82 metres to 6.87 metres. The package also includes sliding side windows, a counter in the portside galley that converts into a bar, and the swim platform, so that galley, cockpit and water-level areas become a single living space.

Three arrangements are offered for the aft section. The Skipper Aft Cabin layout provides private quarters for one crew member. The Carousel Mode Package brings a hydraulically opening tender garage, a rotating aft seat, storage and a table that lowers. At the bow there is a sofa and wide sunpads with storage beneath them.

Helm stations: opening sunroof and hidden upper helm

A large opening sunroof sits above the main helm. A door beside the helm gives direct access to the side deck, making berthing and line handling easier for the skipper.

On the top deck, an electrically folding centre console reveals a flybridge helm with dedicated helm and companion seats. She can also be helmed standing, and there is a fridge between the seats. The same deck has sun loungers and seating that can be rearranged. Galeon says integrated air channels in the hull improve airflow and reduce crosswinds on deck.

Galley, interior and cabins

The main-deck galley has a starboard sofa with a folding backrest, a full-size fridge, an induction hob, an oven with grill and microwave functions, an extractor hood and a stainless-steel sink. On the port side, a sliding window opens onto the balcony and bar.

The lower deck has three cabins and two bathrooms: the master, a forward cabin and a guest cabin. The master has a curved ceiling and a wooden headboard, and the cabins are finished with wooden slats and leather. The Atlantic Design Package by Insitu & Partners Studio is offered only on this model and forms part of the Premium Package.

Four Volvo Penta shaft-drive packages are available. The smallest is a pair of 670 hp D11-670s, the largest a pair of 900 hp D13-900s, giving 1,800 hp in total. Galeon quotes a top speed of up to 32 knots. Fuel capacity is 2,200 litres across two tanks.

Who is she for?

The 570 SKY is for buyers who want a sporty hardtop but are reluctant to give up a flybridge's upper helm and wider view. The balconies and the galley that turns into a bar are aimed at owners who will spend much of their time at anchor. Three cabins, plus the option of an aft skipper's cabin, suit her to a few nights aboard with family and to running with a skipper when needed. The Carousel Mode layout caters for those who want a tender garage. If that layout is chosen there will be no aft skipper's cabin, so the aft arrangement and the engine package should be settled when the order is placed. On the sea trial, it is worth watching the balconies open and close and trying the upper helm for yourself.
