The BRABUS AB110 is the first yacht developed jointly by Germany's BRABUS and the Italian yard AB Yachts, part of Next Yacht Group. The 33.70-metre (110 ft 7 in) waterjet performance yacht made her world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show, and BRABUS presents her as the brand's first yacht. BRABUS brings the design language; AB Yachts handles engineering and construction.

The AB110 sits at the centre of a joint range that also includes the 95 ft BRABUS AB95 and the 150 ft BRABUS AB150. The Masterpiece approach BRABUS applies to its cars, with brand-specific details in materials and finish, carries through inside and out.

Exterior design and carbon detailing

The exterior is built around carbon-fibre elements. The defining feature of the silhouette is an illuminated BRABUS roof spoiler, joined by exposed-carbon front wings, bespoke details running along the port and starboard sides and LED roof lights at the front of the superstructure. The engine air outlets aft are framed in carbon too, and signature BRABUS red accents complete the gloss finish.

Exterior upholstery uses BRABUS 'Triangle' quilting. The pattern ties the different outdoor areas together visually and links the yacht directly to the brand's car interiors.

Decks and stern garage

She is laid out over a lower deck, a main deck and a sun deck that doubles as the flybridge, reached from the main-deck aft area by two carbon-clad stairways. Up top are two large sunpads, seating to port and starboard, two carbon-fibre tables for drinks and dining, and two large built-in lockers to keep the deck clear.

On the foredeck, a large sunpad and a separate seating area form a private spot facing forward. A second seating area aft sits closer to the water. The integrated stern garage takes a jet tender and a full-size three-seat jet ski, while paddleboards, snorkelling gear, life jackets and towable inflatables are stowed in secondary lockers and under hatches. Once the toys are launched, the whole aft platform becomes a beach area and lounge at sea level.

Interior and cabins

The heart of the main deck is a saloon with two large sofas, next to a dining area with a table for eight. There is also a separate day head on this deck. Navigation, vessel-management and entertainment systems are brought together in a single operating area, with a bespoke BRABUS steering wheel and a helm seat trimmed in Masterpiece leather with 'Triangle' quilting.

Accommodation is on the lower deck. The master cabin has its own bathroom and a dressing area. With a VIP cabin with its own bathroom and two en-suite guest cabins, she sleeps ten guests in four cabins. The crew have two cabins, a galley and a crew mess.

Engines and performance

The AB110 takes up to three MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines of 1,939 kW (2,600 hp) each, a combined 5,817 kW (7,800 hp) with all three fitted. Propulsion is by waterjets and top speed is 48 knots. The yard says her stabilisation system adds comfort both under way and at anchor.

Waterjet drive also keeps her draught to 1.30 metres, low for a yacht of 33.70 metres, which makes shallow bays and tight harbours easier to reach.

Who is she for?

The BRABUS AB110 is for buyers who want a yacht over 30 metres without giving up speed. A 48-knot top end cuts passage times between bays and harbours considerably, and a 1.30-metre draught opens up shallow anchorages that larger yachts cannot reach. Four cabins and a stern garage that opens onto the water suit day use and short cruises well. Triple waterjet propulsion calls for a different running plan from a shaft-driven yacht in terms of maintenance and fuel burn, so detailed figures for consumption and range at cruising speed should be requested from the yard before purchase. Having only two crew cabins also limits the size of the crew from the outset.
