The Navetta 50 is a new 14.95-metre (49 ft) model in Absolute Yachts' Navetta range. The yard has named her The Absolute Calypso. She made her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, where the range's new Navetta 58 and Navetta 66 were also unveiled. Absolute says she was designed for owners who want to run the boat themselves, and that she can even be handled single-handed. The aim is to offer generous volumes for her class in a boat that is easy to handle. Her name refers to Calypso, the mythological figure the yard associates with allure and freedom.

Outdoor spaces and flybridge

Outdoor living sits at the heart of the design. The flybridge has no steps at all, and the yard has laid it out as an open-air lounge to be used throughout the day. It has a dining area, a bar unit and a barbecue, with seating alongside the helm, so guests can sit with whoever is at the wheel while under way.

The cockpit has no fixed furniture. With modular pieces and large opening glass panels, it works as an extension of the saloon, and the yard describes it as a waterside terrace that can be rearranged as the day goes on. On the foredeck there are generous sunbathing areas, and the side decks are sheltered.

Interior and helm

The interior reflects Absolute's new design language: pale woods, carefully detailed finishes and extensive glazing. Full-height windows fill the saloon and the aft galley with daylight, and the saloon has generous seating. Placed aft, the galley serves both the saloon and the cockpit and keeps the flow between inside and out natural.

The helm station is on the starboard side. The yard says it offers good visibility, and there is direct access from the helm to the side deck. Being able to reach the deck quickly when coming alongside or mooring makes manoeuvring easier, which matters more than it might seem on paper to an owner who drives the boat.

Cabins

The lower deck has three guest cabins and a separate crew cabin. The master is forward and is arranged as a bright, private suite with a diagonal bed, large windows and a walk-in wardrobe. The yard says the VIP cabin amidships offers volume and headroom rarely found on a yacht of this size. The third guest cabin has twin beds. Because the crew cabin is separate from the guest area, the boat stays flexible: she can be owner-driven most of the time and still take a skipper or deckhand when needed.

Who is she for?

The Navetta 50 is aimed at buyers looking for a flybridge of around 15 metres that they will run without crew. IPS pod drives, direct access from the starboard helm to the side deck and a step-free flybridge all make owner-driving easier. Three guest cabins plus a separate crew cabin suit long weekends and short holidays with family or guests. CE category B means she is rated for offshore use in winds up to Force 8 and significant wave heights up to 4 metres. If you are planning passages well away from the coast, weigh those limits against your own experience. As speed and fuel consumption have not yet been published, we recommend a sea trial and a review of the yard's performance data with our broker before any decision.
